It seems like summer is about to end... We can't believe it's already the end of July... We took our "family vacation" and traveled for a short weekend to the Dells to one of the big mega water park resorts that turned out to be a lot of fun. We stayed with cousins Rick and Laura and the girls... IT was a lot of fun and we did lots of swimming, saw the horses... ate too much and even managed to stop in for the day, on the way home, to Lake Geneva.

C. is growing up so fast... it seems like she was just born... now shes almost 2 and a half years old... just yesterday we caught her calling me "Dad" instead of "Daddy" a couple of times... She is also very much her mothers daughter (she wants what she wants, when she wants it).... We will post all the vacation pictures soon... meanwhile enjoy the one of the little movie star being catered to on the side of the pool by her staff (parents)... Love the Weber family.

SUMMER UPDATE... JULY 17th, 2008

We are enjoying the "muggy" hot days of summer... The summer has been really busy for everyone this year. We had the surprise party for Michelle (it was a lot of fun and she was really surprised). We spent 4th of July at Uncle Nick and Aunt Marge's house. They have a great back yard with a pool and lots of room for all the little ones on Michelles' side of the family to run around. Nanna and Pappa came, so did Mia, Ava and Uncle Dan and Aunt Traci. Uncle Jaime and Aunt Leslie finally got some time to themselves and spent a week in Vegas... Ruben and Stephanie Went to Mexico (Cancun)... and Nanna and Pappa went with Uncle Nick and Aunt Marge to Disneyworld....

We visited The Morton Arboretum... and loved it so much (Claire loves flowers and trees) that we got a family membership... Mom and Claire even went back the very next day with Nanna!

This week Daycare is closed and Claire is spending quality time with Nanna. Next week she gets two days with Daddy and then one day with Mia and Ava....

We are taking a long weekend later this summer with Cousin Laura and Her husban Rick and the girls... we are going to meet them at the Dells and do lots of swimming and playing... Cujo and the fish will have to stay home and be taken care of by Nanna and Pappa!
We hope everyone is having a great summer... There are lots of pictures from Aunt Gina and Max on their trip to Mexico, pictures of the surprise party, and other great family shots posted on the photo albums link on the left... Love, The Weber Family!

From Aunt Gina and Max... On June 27-29, Max, my friend Myriam, and I, visited Casas Grandes, a village in the Mexican state of Chihuahua (3 hours South of El Paso, Texas). Casas Grandes is world famous for the nearby "potter village" of Mata Ortiz, which we also visited (I bought a lot of pottery!!). Living nearby are Mennonite and Mormon communities. Both groups are bilingual with Spanish as their second language. The Mennonites are Old Order Mennonites and speak their own dialect of German, while those in the Mormon community
speak English.
All these pictures were taken at the largest identified settlement called Paquimé, a UNESCO World Heritage Archeologist Site. Paquimé began as a group of 20 or more house clusters, each with a plaza and enclosing wall. These single-story adobe dwellings shared a common water system. Excavations in one compound produced eggshell fragments, bird skeletons and traces of wooden perches which led to the conclusion that the community raised scarlet macaws, important in Mesoamerican rituals. Paquimé was abandoned in the early 15th century. At its height in 1300 AD, Paquimé was the center of a culture which included much of New Mexico and Chihuahua, as well as portions of Sonora, Texas and Arizona. Once believed to be part of the Toltec society, the Casas Grandes has been re-dated and is now believed to be wedged between the Toltec and Aztec cultures. (MORE PICTURES ON WEB ALBUMS LINK ON LEFT)
